Maryann Farrugia - CEO

Maryann has almost 20 years experience in the freight forwarding industry, initially in the sales area in which she excelled and won several awards.

In 1998 after gaining further experience in the United States, Maryann returned to Australia and established her first IT company. The experience kindled Maryann's imagination and established a burning desire. She vowed to form a team that would create a tracking and communication system that would revolutionize Supply Chains worldwide.

Maryann's vision, passion and determination attracted the talent she required. And if that wasn't enough, she has also established Contact Software, Australia's first web-based sales force automation company, and Vixen Internet Solutions, a successful web solutions company.

Barry Adams - General Manager

Prior to joining Pangaea's Management Team, Barry's career spanned 30 years working in the mining and oil and gas industries in Australia and the United Kingdom. His experience with major international companies assisted in developing his expertise in strategic planning and risk management.

His strong leadership skills lead to a variety of operations and senior management roles and prior to leaving the industry to pursue other interests he was responsible for the strategic direction of Woodside's South-Eastern Australia business unit and a member of the executive management team.

During the past 5 years he has focused his energy on working with small to medium size companies helping them realise their potential by providing strong leadership and strategic planning to build solid foundations for success.

Barry is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Andrew Woyzbun - Lead Developer

Andrew Woyzbun joined Pangaea in early 2008 and has been the company’s Lead Developer since September 2009. In this role he oversees all activities involved in the development of the software that drives Pangaea, including analysis, technical architecture, design and development.

Andrew has over 14 years of professional experience in analyst/programmer roles designing and developing software solutions across a wide variety of industry sectors in both Australia and the UK (including freight, investment banking, finance, telecommunications and insurance). With a Computing Studies degree from the University of Canberra and a previous background in Java, for the last few years Andrew has specialised exclusively in Microsoft .NET development, with a particular focus on the use of Silverlight.

With a strong interest in object modelling and user interface design, Andrew has a firm vision for the company’s technical direction that involves utilising leading-edge technologies to further increase the value Pangaea provides for its customers.

Michael Grech - Account Manager

Prior to joining Pangaea, Michael’s background saw him accumulate 20 years experience within the freight Forwarding/ Customs Brokerage industry. His vast knowledge of the Customs Tariff and the servicing of Key Accounts for the larger multi-national Freight Forwarders provides Michael with the knowledge and understanding our customers are looking for from their dedicated Account Manager.

Michael’s interests away from his Account Management role sees him involved in various sporting activities. His love for (football) along with his passion for motor sport sees most weekends taken up by these interests. He also enjoys heading away on weekends to his favourite place in Victoria...the Yarra Valley to sample the regions finest wines.

When asked what he likes most about his role, Michael indicated the interaction he has with his clients and the relationships he has forged with his client base since joining Pangaea has been personally rewarding.

Rebecca Spiteri - Account Manager

Rebecca Spiteri oversees the product development of Pangaea. Her professional background is within the international freight forwarding industry, including positions with Air Express International, Mediterranean Shipping Company and Victory International Logistics.

In 2005, Rebecca joined Pangaea, to contribute her extensive freight forwarding and management experience to the team.

Before taking on the role of Product Manager, Rebecca was instrumental in developing the complete Pangaea customer support and training material which is now delivered completely online. Rebecca's understanding of the industry, and freight forwarding as a whole, has helped develop Pangaea into the product is today and will be in the years to come.

Brooke Mercieca - Customer Service

Brooke Mercieca manages the Customer Support Department at Pangaea and is responsible for user support and the production and management of online training modules and documentation.

She is very experienced in the field of Customer Service starting her career in a long tenure with the Hoyts Corporation, rising through the ranks to cinema management.

Brooke entered the freight forwarding industry in 2004 in a Customer Service capacity before joining the Pangaea team in 2006.

In her spare time, Brooke enjoys working out at the gym and spending time with family and friends.

Peter DeAngelis – Financial Controller

For the past 20 years, Peter has had various positions including Financial, Accounting and General Management positions, across a range of industry sectors. With his enormous amount of commercial experience, gained over this period, Peter brings to Pangaea superior skills in these vital areas of the business. Peter holds a bachelor of business in Accounting, obtained from Swinburne University.

In his spare time, Peter enjoys spending time with his family, attending weekly church services and the occasional exercise program in the gym

What Peter likes about working at Pangaea is the dynamic atmosphere and positive energy behind everybody’s approach to their work. The team all thrive on being part of the technology behind not only the service that Pangaea provides to its customers, but to the service they provide to each other.
