Maryann Farrugia - CEO

Maryann has almost 20 years experience in the freight forwarding industry, initially in the sales area in which she excelled and won several awards.

In 1998 after gaining further experience in the United States, Maryann returned to Australia and established her first IT company. The experience kindled Maryann's imagination and established a burning desire. She vowed to form a team that would create a tracking and communication system that would revolutionize Supply Chains worldwide.

Maryann's vision, passion and determination attracted the talent she required. And if that wasn't enough, she has also established Contact Software, Australia's first web-based sales force automation company, and Vixen Internet Solutions, a successful web solutions company.

Barry Adams – General Manager

Prior to joining Pangaea's Management Team, Barry's career spanned 30 years working in the mining and oil and gas industries in Australia and the United Kingdom. His experience with major international companies assisted in developing his expertise in strategic planning and risk management.

His strong leadership skills lead to a variety of operations and senior management roles and prior to leaving the industry to pursue other interests he was responsible for the strategic direction of Woodside's South-Eastern Australia business unit and a member of the executive management team.

During the past 5 years he has focused his energy on working with small to medium size companies helping them realise their potential by providing strong leadership and strategic planning to build solid foundations for success.

Barry is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Michael Williamson - Technical Director

One of the founding members of Pangaea, Michael is an integral part of the development team that designed and built Pangaea.

Prior to completing his Advanced Diploma in Software Development in 2000, Michael gained management and technical experience in the cinema and hospitality industries. Before joining Pangaea, Michael worked as a senior developer for 2 leading web development houses in Australia.

Passionate about the product and the company, Michael's love of team sport has positively influenced his attitude to work and achieving results. Since joining the Pangaea management team, Michael has still kept his 'hands dirty' and has continued to develop and design the future of the product.

Kay Trembath – Office Manager

Kay has over 15 years experience working in the oil and gas industry for both operating and service companies and 11 years experience running her own business consultancy. Kay commenced her career with Esso Australia in 1984 and during the next 8 years worked in a variety of executive assistant roles in Victoria and New South Wales.

In 1992, Kay moved to Scotland (UK) and was appointed the Services Coordinator for the start-up of Det Norske Veritas’ international safety and loss control management business where she was responsible for the design and development of systems and procedures to support the business unit. In 1995 she returned to Australia and settled in Perth where she started her own consultancy business which Kay relocated to Melbourne in 2000.

Kay has specialist skills in process mapping, design and re-engineering of business processes across a wide range of industries and has over 20 years experience in office and system administration.

Rebecca Spiteri - Product Manager

Rebecca Spiteri oversees the product development of Pangaea. Her professional background is within the international freight forwarding industry, including positions with Air Express International, Mediterranean Shipping Company and Victory International Logistics.

In 2005, Rebecca joined Pangaea, to contribute her extensive freight forwarding and management experience to the team.

Before taking on the role of Product Manager, Rebecca was instrumental in developing the complete Pangaea customer support and training material which is now delivered completely online. Rebecca's understanding of the industry, and freight forwarding as a whole, has helped develop Pangaea into the product is today and will be in the years to come.

Brooke Mercieca – Customer Service

Brooke is very experienced in the field of Customer Service starting her career in a long tenure with the Hoyts Corporation, rising through the ranks and entering cinema management. Immediately after, Brooke entered the freight forwarding industry in a Customer Service capacity and has since joined Pangaea. Brooke is responsible for ensuring that customer training is completed and any questions that our users have, are answered.

In her spare time, Brooke enjoys shopping and spending time with friends and family. Brooke is a keen football fan and supports the Magpies in the Australian Football League.

Brooke has been with Pangaea since the end of 2005 and when asked what she likes best about working with Pangaea, Brooke without hesitation speaks of the culture of teamwork that exists at Pangaea.

David Turner – Financial Controller

In the past 10 years, David has assumed various responsibilities including Financial and Management accounting positions across a range of industry sector.  This has led him to acquire teaching qualifications to which he now practices within a number of leading colleges around Melbourne.

To keep fit, David enjoys sweating it out on the squash court, or on the tread mill at the local gym.  He also enjoys going for long walks, whether it be just around the neighborhood streets, or along walk tracks through the bush.

What David likes about working at Pangaea is the dynamic atmosphere and positive energy behind everybodys approach to their work.  The team all thrive on being part of the technology behind not only the service that Pangaea provide to its customers, but to the service they provide to each other.
