SNEAK PREVIEW : Pangaea 3

The third incarnation of Pangaea is planned to go live July/August 2009. A launch date hasn't been set because we still have a few breakthroughs to make before we go live. The basis of Version 3.0 started last November and will make this development cycle the most intensive since Pangaea was first launched.

You may already be familiar with Pangaea's Smart Data Grid. At the heart of Version 3.0 is the Improved Smart Data Grid which is a logical next step development in the evolution of Pangaea.

We have surveyed our users to find out what it is that they liked and disliked most about Pangaea.

From our customers, we learnt that much of what they disliked had to do with the limitations of the internet. The valuable feedback we received was that sometimes, "Pangaea was too slow and in our businesses, time is money".

Whenever office networks become congested, virus scanners become active, ISP's experience a peak in demand or general heavy demand for the internet, all online applications slow down and may even freeze. All software providers have no control over their applications slowing down because of narrow bandwidth including Pangaea.

Our technical people put their heads together in an effort to make Pangaea fast and easy to use, even in situations where there was not enough bandwidth. The result is the Improved Smart Data Grid.

Affecting only the "View Orders", "View Containers" and "View Line Items" screens, the Improved Smart Data Grid offers the benefit of letting users directly edit from the screen. Currently, when an entry is clicked, a form is presented to be updated and once the updates are made, the form then needs to be saved. Not any more! Orders can be updated directly from the Views screens.

The Improved Smart Data Grid looks and behaves much the same way as Microsoft Excel does. Plus, it can be exported in Excel, CSV, XML etc formats, and emailed to an agent who can update/add orders in Excel and then the file can be easily uploaded into Pangaea.

Never before has it been easier to create, edit and delete orders in Pangaea.

It is an exciting development not only for Pangaea but for the industry. Newly available technology is allowing Pangaea to behave like Excel which has been the standard format for Freight Forwarders to compile and manage their order information.

As we get closer to sorting out the technology and integrating it within Pangaea, we will make an announcement closer to the release date, however expect late July, early August 2009 as the release of Pangaea 3.0.

After a successful introductory series of Webinars, we are delighted to announce that we have developed a program of webinars for 2009. Titled "Demonstrating Pangaea", a webinar is an online presentation using voice and visual presentation to deliver an information session over your office computer and telephone.

"Demonstrating Pangaea" is a 30 minute overview of the key benefits that Pangaea delivers to your business and demonstrates how simple and easy it is to use Pangaea.
