NEW PANGAEA WEBSITE DESIGN

Following soon after the launch of 2.9.6, Pangaea will be revealing a new look, feel and navigation structure of the information pages.

The information pages are the site pages which are designed to inform and educate newcomers to the Pangaea website and clearly communicate to them what Pangaea does and what it is capable of.

However, while this aspect of the site will change, the application that you use to input and update orders will remain unchanged apart from the improvements available in version 2.9.6.

The need to redesign the information pages comes in response to make Pangaea more widely available by better demonstrating our capability, the value and the power that Pangaea offers to Importers and Freight Forwarders.

MAJOR SITE UPDATE : Pangaea Site Version 2.9.6

The latest version of Pangaea will be available for customers logging in on the morning of Monday, 30th June 2008.
Version 2.9.6 will offer even more useful features to ensure Pangaea delivers you even better value.

Here's a rundown of what is available in 2.9.6.

• Pangaea Easy Reports
  Pangaea Easy Reports answers the question of "how efficient is my freight network and in what areas can I improve efficiency and reduce cost?".
  
  The reports are preformatted so they are very simple to use. All that is required is for you to enter date ranges and the reports are self generating.
  
  
• Container Delivery
  Container Delivery offers the ability to project estimated delivery dates and delivery times by delivery locations. Impress your clients by being able to project delivery date (and delivery time!) for any container to any destination.
  
  
• Requested Delivery Date
  When Importers create an order in Pangaea, they will be able to specify a Requested Delivery Date. This new features will allow Freight Forwarders to better plan the freight process, confirm bookings and deliver on clients expectations.
  
  
• Container & Container Packing Upload
  Clients can log onto Pangaea and identify in an instant, which particular containers a line item is in so that they can prioritize their unloading.

PANGAEA EASY REPORTS

Pangaea Easy Reports allow you to track the performance of your freight network, easily identify weaknesses and improve efficiencies to drive your costs down.

There are 2 separate modules available. The first is specifically designed for Freight Forwarders, is available at a cost of US$100 per month and a once off set up fee US$100.

The second module, designed for Importers and Exporters is available at a cost of US$250 per month and a once off set up fee of US$250.

SITE UPDATE : Pangaea Site Version 2.9.5

As part of our commitment in ensuring that Pangaea remains the world's leader in smart online track and trace systems, we are delighted to announce the imminent release of version 2.9.5.

There is nothing for you to do. Once the upgrade goes through on Sunday the 30th of March, the next time you log into Pangaea you will see the new version. 

While Pangaea Version 2.9.5 is essentially the same as the version that you are working with today, it does include several enhancements designed to make Pangaea even more user friendly and to improve your productivity.

Here is a list of improvements :

ORDER PIPELINE

• A new screen design which better highlights orders that have been affected by either early or late arrival or departure on milestones.
  
  
• Expansion of order filtering options, with a new level included for providing "managed" views. Managed views allows users to specify only the orders relating to certain responsibility allocation, client, agent, port etc.
  
  
• The new Managed order views also includes shipments that are either arriving or leaving earlier or later than the planned dates. This will provide an opportunity to take corrective action, further reducing the cost of freight.

LINE ITEMS

• 'Yard' added as unit of measure in the "Quantity Units" drop down.
  
  
• Provision made for input of "Line Cubic Meters"
  
  
• Input box added for "Line Weight (kgs)"
  
  
• Each of these new line item dimensions added to the Upload Wizard.

GENERAL

• Improved site page number styling.
  
  
• Flight/Voyage Details pages have included MAWB, origin, discharge and destination points

PANGAEA DESKTOP APPLICATION (beta)

Pangaea, the world's leader in smart online order track and trace systems, have announced the new release of a desktop version of Pangaea.

Weighing in at an incredibly light 2 megabytes, the Pangaea desktop can be delivered to you easily by email. The Pangaea Desktop Application offers Freight Forwarders and their Agents considerable advantages particularly if both have a need to update a large number of orders at one time.

The Pangaea Desktop Application is a stand-alone program which needs to be installed on each computer on which it is used. While an internet connection is required, it is not required to be consistently on like the web version of Pangaea requires.

Freight Forwarders and Agents are able to access all their orders using the Pangaea Desktop and update the orders while offline. Once the updates are complete, click on the "Synchronize" button to automatically update the orders to the online database,

Pangaea Desktop Application offers an easy, fast and convenient option to updating large volumes of orders.The scheduled and limited release of the beta version of the Pangaea Desktop Application is Q3 2008.
